Since moving to Cardiff from the US in 2004, I have been strongly impressed by the beauty of Wales, a country with the most astonishing variety of landscapes and townscapes, always with the sea nearby. I have been painting and drawing constantly. My favourite media are watercolour and pen & ink, but I also work in charcoal, acrylics and others. Lately I have been experimenting with three dimensional art, beginning with plaster, clay and mixed media flat sculptures, a sort of bas relief, and recently going to deeper landscapes and cityscapes.

In addition to works displayed on my website (see below), I am also glad to do paintings and sculptures on commission. I specialise in pictures of buildings, especially houses, but am open to any subject. Prices usually range from £75 to £150 for pictures, (not including framing) or £125 up for three dimensional works. The American artist Edward Hopper said he didn’t try to paint how things looked, he tried to paint how they made him feel. That about sums it up for me, too.

Recent work has explored adding depth, literally to representations of scenes and buildings. They might be called bas reliefs as they do not attempt to model depth in scale
